The Truth About Your Energy (That No One Talks About)
The Truth About Your Energy
(That No One Talks About)
There is something frustrating about your energy when you live with autoimmune disease.
It does not make sense.
One day you feel like yourself.
You get things done. You think, maybe I am finally getting back on track.
And the next day… it is gone.
The fatigue.
The heaviness.
The fog.
And suddenly, everything feels harder again.
So you start asking yourself the questions no one else hears.
What is wrong with me
Why can’t I stay consistent
Why can’t I just push through like I used to
And over time, those questions turn into something deeper.
You start to believe your body is the problem.
But here is the truth.
Your energy is not broken.
It is communicating.
You have just never been taught how to listen to it without judgment.
Most women I talk to are living in a pattern they do not even realize they are in.
You have a “good day”
So you do more
You catch up
You say yes to everything you could not do before
And then your body responds.
With exhaustion
With pain
With a flare
So you crash.
And when you crash, the thoughts come right behind it.
I did too much
I should have known better
Now I am back at square one
So you rest… but not really.
Because even in the rest, there is guilt.
There is pressure to get back up again as quickly as possible.
And the moment you feel a little better… the cycle starts again.
Push
Crash
Guilt
Repeat
This is not a discipline problem.
This is an awareness problem.
No one taught you how to live in a body that requires a different pace.
You were taught to push through.
To finish what you started.
To keep going no matter what.
And that worked… until it didn’t.
What if your energy is not something to fight…
But something to follow.
Rebuilding your rhythm starts here.
Not with doing more.
But with noticing.
When does your energy feel steady
When does it drop
What happens right before a crash
What do you ignore in the moment because you want to keep going
These are not small things.
This is the language of your body.
I remember when I started to see this in my own life.
I was not overdoing it because I wanted to hurt myself.
I was overdoing it because I finally felt good… and I did not trust that it would last.
So I tried to fit everything in while I could.
And my body paid the price.
Over and over again.
And I see this with my clients all the time.
They are not failing.
They are stuck in a pattern no one ever helped them see.
Once we slow it down… everything changes.
They begin to recognize the signs earlier.
They make different choices in the moment.
They stop waiting for the crash to tell them they went too far.
That is where things begin to shift.
You do not need more discipline.
You need awareness.
So here is a place to start this week.
Just notice.
Notice when your energy rises.
Notice when it starts to dip.
Notice what you tell yourself in those moments.
No fixing.
No judging.
Just awareness.
Because awareness is what allows you to respond differently next time.
And that is how rhythm is rebuilt.
Not all at once.
But one moment of noticing at a time.

Your body is not working against you.
It is asking you to pay attention.
